Sligo Rovers waren eigentlich mit dem Heimrecht und als klassenh\u00f6heres Team relativ klarer Favorit in der Partie, und in der 12. Spielminute sah es danach aus, als w\u00fcrden sie der Rolle auch gerecht, als Romeo Parkes den F\u00fchrungstreffer f\u00fcr Sligo erzielte. Doch in der 28. Minute glich Beineon O&#8217;Brien-Whitmarsh f\u00fcr Cork City aus, das 1:1 war dann auch der Pausenstand. 10 Minuten nach der Pause bekam Cork City einen Foulelfmeter, den Dylan McGlade souver\u00e4n zum 2:1 verwandelte. Romeo Parkes mit seinem zweiten Treffer stellte wieder den Gleichstand her, bevor Dale Holland in der 89. Minute den Siegtreffer f\u00fcr Cork City erzielte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eine weitere kleine \u00dcberraschung gab es am Freitag bei UCD: Das als souver\u00e4ner Tabellenf\u00fchrer der First Division bislang ungeschlagene Shelbourne kassierte die erste Pflichtspielniederlage der Saison und wurde von UCD aus dem Wettbewerb gekegelt. Ansonsten gab es im Wesentlichen Favoritensiege, teils deutlich (St. Patrick&#8217;s Athletic gegen Bray Wanderers, Bohemians gegen College Corinthians und Longford gegen Bangor GGFC), teils knapp (z.B. Dundalk gegen Treaty United).
